I just saw it ... its a bit long. The race was well done and was actually pretty close to the events of the real race (no spoilers). Very light on any of the actual engineering and of course some "dramatic license" used on most of the characters. Overall I'd say it was pretty decent, not a must see.
Autobiography (Motor Trend Network) had a real good backstory & expanded detail concerning all the issues/engineering/personalities on this past week's episode.
Wife and I saw it last Sunday. It needs to be seen on the big screen with surround sound. Very good movie, don't know how accurate the characters are portrayed, especially Ford II and his crew. If accurate, the were real back stabbing a-holes.
For a long movie, the time passed very fast. My wife didn't say anything during the movie, and she is not a car person. Afterward I asked her why. She said she was so involved into the movie she was lost in it. Said it was one of the best she had ever seen.
The only thing I wished for was more on the creation and designing, but the story was very good, and for a racing movie, was well above average with the racing scenes. It told a different side of the story that I expected, but was very well told and I left very satisfied.

I watched it yesterday; great execution. I figured I would get some back story instead of fluffing up libtard Matt Damon's bank account.
I saw it the other day. My wife went along because she likes movies. She didn't expect to like this one at all, but she really did! I did, too.
They did take some dramatic license and changed a few facts, but they were relatively minor.
On a personal note, my father was a manual transmission engineer at Ford at that time. The department he was in was responsible for the gearbox in those cars. He didn't work directly on it, but the work was going on around him. I remember the first year he was upset that they had gearbox problems in the race.
The way they portrayed the politics at Ford was right on the money. I wasn't there at that time, but in my time from 1988-2007, that was life at the Ford Motor Company.
And one time I met and shook hands with Hank the Duece.
