Hey guys, with the temperature dropping like it is I suddenly realized it had been a while since I had logged in. Also realized we needed to start the fall thread.
we had the fall fling and it worked out well with the families. However, we only had about four members from the club show up. So that was a bit of a bummer.
Now it’s time to start looking towards the next trip and trying to get the dinners sorted out. I’m not sure I will remember to post the dinner thread each month, so maybe we need to figure out another way to get everyone together every month. I know Matt from Raeford will join us if he is close enough to the meeting.
Marty and I are always in for a bit of a road trip, at least until the summer when things start changing.
Doing my weekly/bi weekly check in. It's been rather busy around here for awhile now.
However yesterday I stepped out of the Stone ages of ac/heat thermostats... I snagged a brand new Honeywell 7 day programmable wifi capabilities blah blah blah fancy **** thermostat. This from the old mercury filled thermostat that was orginal to the house.
Still figuring it out, but think I got a 7 day schedule figured out...
Whats up NC!
Been busy here trying to keep fixing what mother nature has damaged. Our 8' spiral tree was blown over (yes it was anchored down) and the center ring broke in several places. But we were able to get it stood back up and repaired. It's the last year for this tree now. Next year will be between 20-25 foot tall.
Here's a video from a couple of nights ago. Video is iffy, but sound is decent. We finally got the 8' tall Les Paul electric guitar that I build a couple of years ago, hammered and playing in the garage with power tools, outside and fired up for the first time. It took a while to be able to put $300 into it for the controller etc.
Yes me too. I've been keeping my eye open, as the kids all want to go.
This house sale has every thing tied up financially though. However we got it on the market last week. It also went under contract with 3 offers with in the week. So yay! That might be off the books by January or February. Fingers crossed!
Then to put a little love into the old truck as well as the atv. Plus pick up a second one for the wife. Maybe some small ones for the kids.
Good luck on the home selling Josh. I'd sure rather buy than sell.
Our display is still going, we had some damage from high winds a couple of weeks ago, but we did get things fixed and staked down better. And then two different controllers lost outputs, but we had more waiting.
We got our second "Gawk *** Award" this last weekend. It's literally a bus load of women just riding around looking at lights/displays. Shari even brought them in the house so they can see all of the clutter we have. She has really put a lot of work, and a couple of dollars into it. The living room looks about the same way.
We have about 5"s of snow on the ground from Sunday. It's butt cold outside and near the expected high of 25 degrees, and a wind chill of 17. So yes, the fireplace is cleaned out from yesterday use, and will be burning pretty soon.
Hope y'all are doing well.
Unk Bob Tim and I built these corner shelves this last summer. The center piece is an old Cedar post off of an old front porch, that I cut in half, then turned an old metal footboard upside down and screwed together. That Santa on the other side of the tree can look me dead in the eye's. He's a pretty good size boy.
