remote start help with forescan

remote start help with forescan

Hello
My 2019 lariat will remote start via the Ford pass app but i dont have the actual button on my key fob. Am i able to just buy a replacement fob that has remote start and reprogram this key with forscan?

on my 2017 is Lock - unlock - lock to activate remote start

you have the standard 3 button remote and the lock unlock lock remote start came from factory that way?

yes on the remote but I added the Ford security module and enabled in Forscan. Should be no different than factory but I am not an expert.

Wonder if i already have the module since it already remote starts from the app. Ill have to do some more research. Appreciate it!

I added the security and RS to my XL; bought the parts and then did the install and ForScan myself.

Yes - you can just push "lock, unlock, lock" on the standard bayonet fob and it does the same as pushing the (engine start) circular arrow 2x on the upgraded fobs.

From the Amazon description: ✅NOTE: The remote start options in the vehicle do not become enabled with this kit.
So it sounds like something will have to be activated with FORScan or a dealer's IDS. Unless they're talking strictly about the climate control settings mentioned further after the above sentence.
