Remote Start

I just bought this truck a few months ago. It acts like it has remote start but I am not sure as it does not work.
How do I know if it does or does not have remote start

Also how in the heck do I program this darn stereo to my phone for hands free.

TIA

owners manual is your friend.

Remote start: look at the key fob. Hit the lock buttom followed by the button that has a circular arrow. Hit that button twice and you should see the lights confirm it. Then it should start.

To pair your phone, have your phone blue tooth enabled.

The it is a seach on the truck to find it, confirm the code on both devices.

It is a little more in depth than that but the owners manuals should cover it.

I do that and it only alerts the lights once. I have tried both key fobs and the same thing. I can't imagine it doesn't have it but I may have bought one of the models that does not. My key fob has like delayed button reaction it seems.
I hit the button after hitting lock and it beeps and flashes once and that is it.
Is there a wire I can trace to see if it has remote start?

what model do you have? Do you have the full information screen?

Maybe in the settings menu it is not selected to allow the remote start?

I have the model that has screen stuff on the dash. I can go through and reset it after an oil change and such. It is not a super fancy style but nice.
It has the capability to program admin keys and such.

As long as you have a stored DTC (trouble code), remote start will not work. Clear any DTC's and then try it.

You need to have this fob to do the remote start function unless you have a keyless ignition.

Do I have to go in to a shop or plug our code reader in to clear all codes?
It shows on my dash that there are admin keys programmed but the amount programmed are more then what came with the truck, Otherwise it is not showing any other codes.

Mine doesn't look quite like that but similar. I have the lock and unlock toward key then on left corner is horn and right corner is 2x button for remote start. It is a 2015 truck

SLT probably doesn't have remote start unless it was a special order vehicle and it was added as an option.

The key above is for newer trucks. The 11-16 trucks keys look like this and have 4 buttons.

Double pressing the lock button locks the doors and honks the horn.

For remote start you need to press the lock button once then the 2x button twice, the lights will flash once or twice I can't remember which then a few seconds later it will start. Like Larry said if you have a check engine light remote start is disabled.

That matches my key and I have no check anything displaying on my dash.
I am thinking maybe it does not have it. I have had many new trucks this is not my first one, I know that the lock button is for locking and the remote start is two clicks. It sounds and alerts lights just like my 15 dodge but does not start. We have the same truck here at work and it has remote start. This is why I was wondering about it possibly being disconnected. I am a rancher and a born and raised farm girl so big diesel trucks are not new to me, just the newer ford is. I owned a 03 7.3 Powerstroke for years before an ex issue. I had a remote start on it (aftermarket)
I am just trying to figure out if there is a wire or something I can chase to see if it is equipped with this feature. I have called my local ford dealer and they want 150.00 to just look at it and I find that ludicrous.

Thanks for all your help but I think y'all are thinking I am a girl with a big truck....LOL NOT. I drive semis as well with my CDL.
