I'm looking for a video or instructions to replace the passenger vent window.
The original had a broken cup hinge, and the pivot finally gave up the ghost.
The new window is from a '63, plus the pivot needs to be replaced...I bought that too.
When trying to fit it the replacment window in place...i can't get the hinge cup onto the post hinge that is on the body....and I haven't installed the pivot yet :/
Do I need to pull the entire vent window assembly out?
Yes. There is no way to replace the pivot with the vent window in place....that is, if I understand your situation correctly. You will need to lower the window glass and disconnect the division bar. There are screws that hold the upper pin to the “cup”. You will also need to remove the glass from the frame to get to the rivets which retain the lower pivot. There are more detailed instructions here on FTE.
