While in MN in the winter even this repair is sketchy. On the last December trip to see Mom my nozzles, not the supply hoses, were frozen on the way home until I was about 30 minutes north of Louisville I went ahead and installed a fluid heater and heated nozzles to alleviate this problem. It is not a necessity when I am here in ETN but the problem no longer exists when in the frozen north. When it is so cold that your extension cord breaks when you unplug the engine heater heated nozzles and heated fluid are nice to have. Another nice thing about heated washer fluid is the great job it does after some monster flying bug hits the windshield. Even if the outside temperature is at summer marks the hot water clears everything right off the windshield.

Could you tell me what brand fluid heater and heated nozzles you bought and where you got them? The fluid heater I installed years ago on my F350 PSD pulled 70 amps and had to be wired with #2 cable.
PnD,
I purchased the LV HB55. You can get it from WallyWorld for about $50 and elsewhere for $65-$199. Mine is relay controlled off the front fuse box, engine running, with a temperature controller switching the relay ground or by me manually flipping a toggle switch for the relay ground. It does have about a 50 amp hit for the first few seconds and then goes in to pulse width modulation to maintain the temp with a lighter load. I still recommend relay controlling the heater so it is not on all the time.
The washer nozzles are from a Land Rover, when BMW owned them, and require a slight opening of the length in the cowl grill to fit. You also need to replace the connectors on the nozzles to match the connectors you put on your custom harness. The nozzles are also relay controlled off of the temperature controller or off the toggle switch. If the washer fluid heater is on the nozzles are on and vice versa.
