ignitions

Is there a alternative to stock ignitions? I need to swap out my current EEC-IV(module is on distributor). How about ignitions that will work directly with a distributor with a vaccum advance?

Thanks
Jason

a MALLORY UNILITE is a nice distributor, and you'd have to buy a coil to go with it. DW

AS for the stock ignition set up, I put a ACCELL TFI high performance ignition modual on my bronco and so far works great. DW

Just wanted to make shure you understand that distributor is for a carb set up right? his engine is no longer injected. that mallory distributor wont work with the stock ecm. DW

Right. This is for a carb setup. Now the Mallory distributor... What is the difference between the mechanical advance versus a Vaccum? I have never seen a mechanical type. As far as the igntion modual you stated that you use ACCELL TFI. Will that work fine with my setup? Do you have the setup diagram for that and what would the approximate cost be?

No were talking two diferent things here, the ACCEll modual is for the stock TFI ignition, the one that mount on the distributor. You would not use it with the mallory distb. with it you use a regular or high out put coil.
The vacuum advance works just like any other it uses engine vacuum to advance the timming.

A MECH. advance has no vacuum, it uses rpm and counter weight springs inside the distributor to control the advance
I like the MECH. for real high performance. but the vacuum advance works great for a daily driver on the street. DW

OK. So with the Mallory distributor, the only other thing I would need to purchase would be a high output coil. What about a ignition module? Or is it built into the distributor? Who is a good distributor to go to to find this distributor and is setup easy?

Sorry for all the questions. I just want this 86 "Frankenstien" Bronco to run good.
