I'm feeling the urge to take my truck to the drag strip to see what it's capable of (now that it's running well). Given that it's pretty much bone stock with a t18 and a 360, am I in danger of blowing anything up with a single pass just to see what it can do?
I'm not racing it, just curious what she can do in the quarter
Either it will take it or it won't. Every wearable, breakable part on your truck is just like a light bulb in your living room. When is it gonna' blow? Your guess is as good as mine. But if good U-joints,solid transmission, you don't miss a gear and over-rev etc, etc,I would think it would go down thru' the lights o.k. Good luck!
And the chances of damaging anything at the strip are no worse than stomping on it at a green light. It's never a good idea, but we all get that itch in our right foot on occasion.
Whatever the time is it's going to be unimpressive at best. if you run it halfway sensible you shouldn't hurt anything, but you're not going to prove anything either. except you don't have a race car.
I've taken my truck a few times and had a blast! It's a '77 F100 long bed with worn 390, C6 auto, open diff with 3.00 gears. I ran several 15.7's and had one 0.000 reaction time. It was pretty slow but great fun!!

Wow! You were practically flying with that 15.7!
I'll be happy with anything under 20. That damn t18 doesn't make it easy to get going...
