So, I have a 1995 F250 7.3 Powerstroke. I decided to use head studs because I plan on making a significan't amount of horsepower. I installed the head studs, put the heads on, and torqued all of the bolts down as directed. Now I can't seem to install the injectors because the top bolt (next to the oil squirter) will not tightened down because of the head stud sticks up too far. I tried removing the cover of the injector to see if I could get a better position to tighten down the top bolt, but it doesn't seem to work.
ANY IDEAS???
The stud kit should have had shorter studs for the injector area, with directions
Ya know, I thought about that before I got started and lined all of the studs up and they are all the same size. So strange, huh? So, right, wrong, or indifferent, I just removed the studs under the injectors and used the head bolts instead of the studs. Aside from trimming the stud with a cutoff wheel, I didn't see any other solution. I'm still open to suggestions, however!
The directions tell Wich holes those specific studs go in. They also tell how high they should protrude or be less than. My bet is the head bolt holes are obstructed by something.
