Hello, my name's Jeramy, I was given a 89 Ford F-250 4x4 W/300 l6 by my uncle cause he left it in our driveway due to mechanical issues for a little over s year, I probably could've gotten it sooner just never thought to ask, but anyways about 3 hours after it was given to me I already had her purring like a kitten, I had to juno the starter solenoid under the hood to start it at first, had no driver window, was missing a back sliding window, the arm inside the steering column that turns the ignition with the key was broken so I had to use pliers, then vice grips, no hoses to the heater core(so no heat), no working radio or speakers, had a big ugly old lumber rack, clutch safety switch wasn't mounted, no key cause he lost it since he didnt expect to ever use it again but little bit little, I fixed each and every one of those problems(some I fixed uniquely into custom things that only my truck has, like push start on top of the steering column),a LOT of the advice I took I found on this site through the forums you guys have posted and commented on, and even though I've always been a huge Mustang fan, I have to admit that I considered myself a Chevy Man, now before anyone starts firing, I just want to say that after having owned my first Ford, and doing as much as I have to make her MINE, seeing how faithful and reliable she is, so easy and quick to compromise with me when she does start getting fussy, I LOVE MY FORD, and I dont think there's a Chevy out there I would rather have, and if it came down to it I would rather put the money into pampering my baby with with some new shoes and new clothes(Rims/tires and body work/paint for anyone not getting my analogy) and either getting a new engine and tranny, or rebuilding a used set or the set I have rather than spending the money it would cost to me get any Chevy that I would even consider close to equal, plus the thing would just break down on me every day, if not every other day, so I want to thank everyone for helping me see the light, and hope in time, with your continued help, that one day I'll be the guy helping out the guy that's fixing up his first, or fortieth, Ford, and even though I finally went out and bought a Chilton Manual, I'll be looking to you guys first to figure out what's wrong, what to do, or at least where to start looking, whenever I have a problem, or project, or just looking for ideas or opinions, thanks again, and God Bless.
