Suspension Question Bilstein Shocks

I am replacing the shocks on my 1989 F250 XLT 4WD Heavy Duty with Billstein shocks. The front end has leaf springs and I have heard that I should install the Bilstein shocks in the from "boot down" . This seems odd and I wanted to share this and get feed back if that is what one should do. Has anyone heard of been told to do the same? Thank you in advance to any and all replies.

Yes, boot down. Have had a set on my F350 for yrs.

I have some on my truck, boot is also down.
Edit: i have the same truck as you. Sclb with a 7.3
