The issue is not between 250 vs 350 model designations. The issue is between generations of 250 and 350 models, lump sum.
More than previous generational differences, 2017 and up Super Duty parts do not have much in common with
- 2015-2016 F-250 and F-350
- 2011-2014 F-250 and F-350
- 2008-2010 F-250 and F-350
- 2004-2007 F-250 and F-350
- 1999-2003 F-250 and F-350
- 1992-1997 F-250 and F-350
- 1987-1991 F-250 and F-350
- 1980-1986 F-250 and F-350
- 1973-1979 F-250 and F-350
- 1968-1972 F-250 and F-350
- 1961-1967 F-250 and F-350
- 1957-1960 F-250 and F-350
- 1951-1956 F-2 and F-3
- 1948-1950 F-2 and F-3
Ok admittedly, prior to the beginning of the 60's, "250/350" designations are not usually used, and parts for trucks from the 60's and prior are by everyone's definition considered classic. Therefore, while my list above overblows the point, the point is valid enough even if there were only six (6) broad swath genres of F-250 and F-350 all lumped together, as follows:
- 2017-2020 and beyond F-250 and F-350
- 1999-2016 F-250 and F-350
- 1980-1997 F-250 and F-350
- 1973-1979 F-250 and F-350 Dentside
- 1968-1972 F-250 and F-350 Bumpside
- 1961-1967 F-250 and F-350 (with more metal weight in the dashboard alone than in the entire cab of a 2017. An exaggeration, maybe, but I sure miss my first Ford... a 1963 F-100).
As a '17 up owner, there is no way I would want to have to sift through dentside and bumpside F-250 and F-350 parts, nor would I want to wade through not one, but two 17 year long generational swaths of '80-'97 F-250 and F-350 parts, and '99-'16 F-250 and F-350 parts, just to find a couple of posts hidden in that list that would fit my aluminum body 17 and up F-250 and F-350.

These members have valid points, even if viable solutions are already baked into the search tools of Marketplace, that are not readily known.
There may be a search technique that can mitigate and address those points. I will be looking into that, and invite others to use their search experience and boolean education to do the same, and report any tips and tricks you come up with.
But in the meantime, it is useful and instructive feedback to hear of the hurdles that members are encountering (whether real or imagined) when using Marketplace. That is, if they've even heard of FTE Marketplace, which is a hurdle enough as it is.
I was simply gving some additional feedback on the current marketplace, and that I see having an F250 section and a separate F350 section a bit redundant, being that there is very little difference between the two.
