Light Switch Wrong?

I'm getting old and have forgotten what the light switch looked like prior to disassembly. This is a picture of the new one and it doesn't look right to me. Notice how far it sticks out from the dash. It is pushed in through two detents and rotates around to the left and right until it stops. I've pushed pretty hard and it will not go in anymore. Also, there are two metal clips on top of the switch and for the life of me can't figure out what the clip onto or around. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like you have the wrong length ****. There are 2 different light **** lengths you can buy. It doesnt affect the functionality but will stick out a bit farther.

What year and series is the truck? Where did you buy this new switch?

There are several different switches, several different lengths of headlamp **** with shafts.

Switch

I purchased it from LMC with the bezel and nut. The truck is a 1962 F-100 Flareside.

Wrong Size

Looks like they sent me the 3 1/2" instead of the 2 1/2". Thanks for the help.
