I don't know what yours is supposed to look like, but I got one from Jeff's Bronco Granveyard. Was originally made for mid 70's Bronco I think, but it has a plate with "CARGO LIGHT" and a slide on/off switch, I think I paid about $20 for it. I am going to mount it under the dash on my F-100 and set up a light for the truck bed, so I can load/unload at night and see what I'm doing..
The slide switch on mine broke. I just took a nice metal toggle switch, rounded out the rectangular part in the middle of the factory cargo light plate, and made sure the on and off lined up with the new toggle throws. It was cheap, easy, and strong.
LMC carries it the slide switch now.
I have an illuminated toggle, I thought it was stock until I took a closer look. Someone had done exactly what 79Indy described. I like that the switch lights up, I'm less likely to leave the cargo light on this way.
