4x4 conversion
Hello all. I have a 78 F250 Supercab Ranger XLT Camper Special that is 2wd. I want to convert it to 4wd and am wondering if anyone has grafted a 4x4 F150 front frame half to a 2wd F250 rear half. I like the coil/radius arm suspension and want to be able to use off the shelf parts for maintenance and repairs. Any thoughts & suggestions? Tia.

Level of skill is and experience is important here. Putting leaf springs and a front axle under a 2wd is not that hard but will require knowledge in suspension and steering. Many have done it. Going to coil over is more work though.
If you have a f150 4x4 why not just put the 78 250 body on the 150 frame.
Easiest path would be sell your truck and buy a 4x4 f150.

I've never done it, but after reading about what is entailed the only thing I can say about it is do your research. IMO it sounds like a hell of a job and like already mentioned, far easier to sell your 2wd and buy a 4wd. Alternately, swap bodies or full chassis.
