4x4 Conversion?

I have a 1979 F100 Ranger. It has an 351W. It is a 2wd and I want to know how difficult it would be to convert to a 4x4. Just wondering if any one out there has done this and can give me info and parts list. Tks.

I did it. Your best bet would be to search, as this question comes up about once a month. There are many ways to skin the cat, so the parts list is quite variable.

Tks. Had two 79 4x4's in MT and let them get away. I know, I'm and idiot. Any idea how to find trucks for sale down here in TN? Maybe I'll just do a body to fram swap?

That's what I ended up doing. I really liked the coil ride of the 2wds, so I wanted that in 4wd. I decided to use a combination of 150/250 parts. In the end, it was easier to use a 4wd frame than it was to modify my 2wd frame.
