Are you saying the fan clutch went bad? And it destroyed the pulley? The pulley seldom goes bad.

They are pretty much Unobtainium. I had searched for a member in the past, but can't remember what I found for the part number.

Your best bet is a junkyard and go from there.

This may or may not be what you need. This is a water pump pulley for my 1996 f150, 4.9L. Yours would be similar if not the same. Go to NAPA web site and search by your vehicle and engine:

Water Pump Pulley

Part # :
NOE 6601930
Product Line :
NAPA Solutions

Torq'ta, that number 300-XXX is the same number I came up with several months ago for another member for a '96 4.9L. The member never came back with what he found, but I said that it didn't look much bigger than the one on my '92 4.9L.

It also crossed over for the Ranger and different engine sizes. I would think that if it's just 1/8" bigger in diameter, the tensioner should be ok with the correct belt.

Here's the back story. Truck was overheating. Everything was good, took out radiator (three years old), checked thermostat (was operating just fine, took off water pump (looked ok) reassembled. Overheated when idling (shi*)

took it to the shop and they said fan clutch was no good, but couldn't get it off.

Came home took shroud off and removed water pump. Nut looked all damaged from the shop trying to remove, OK I buy new pump, van clutch, but no pump pulley-why because they don't exist (shi*)

Pump goes into vice and out comes the old trusty Sawzall. Three days it took to cut through the nut (found plenty of other things to do around the house rather shake out my filings).

Finally cut through it today, took the old grinder and cut away the 1/2 nut remaining, put it all back together tonite and tomorrow we'll put in the fluid then go to Disneyland.

Love all the input, you all are wonderful sources. This old truck cost me 15K in 1995 and has 220000 miles on, doesn't burn oil (leaks a little), radio caught fire, and ac vent is wired open because the vacuum thing stopped working, but I love her!!!!

Thanks again
