7.3 block with forged rods...

7.3 block with forged rods...
What would be a good going price? I found one that is the block, heads, and all the internals. No pan, injectors or the external accessories. I can get it for 300.00. Was running out of a 2000 Ford, it also has forged rods.

Do you know for a fact it was running before being pulled or is that what someone is telling you?
Why was a perfectly good engine pulled and somewhat stripped? Damage to vehicle perhaps?
What Oharal is trying to say is that an engine should be tested for good compression unless you trust the seller.
As for the forged rods, they are nice to have but don't do anything for anyone under 475 HP.

It was misdiagnosed as being bad when it was just a bad injector cup. They had already ordered a rebuilt block when they found out. Haven't been able to meet up yet as we are juggling schedules. For 300 bucks not much of a gamble for me. Will update if it happens with some pics! The truck is in the driveway...daily with new block.
