My father used to have a motor home with a 460 and an Allison tranny, it ran great but he got screwed out of it by his business partner.
Allison A/T's were only installed in 500 and larger series trucks. 460's were not installed in anything larger than an E350/F350.

1975/2013 Class C Motor Homes were usually installed on the E350 Cut-Away.

Ford cut the cargo body off behind the front seats so that box van, ambulance, Class C Motor Home and people movers bodies could be installed.

1975/88 E350 460's came with the C6. 1989 was the first year for the E4OD, 1997 was the last year for the 460.

There is very little you can do to improve MPG on a Class C Motor Home. 5-8 MPG highway is about the best you'll get, if you drive on the flats @ 55.

First factory Ford station wagon: 1929 Model A. With the all wood body, it weighed over 2,000 lbs. All Ford & Merc station wagons had wood bodies thru 1948. Front sheet metal and rear fenders were steel.

No 390's installed in cars after 1971.

i bought the station wagon back 25yrears ago and rebuilt the motor. it still runs and it is a 390 cannot remember what year the station wagon was though.i loaned my truck to a friend so he could use it to clean up his place. he ruined the tranny by accidentally clipping the cooling lines and running it out of fluid. he then put a c6 out of a car in the truck and jurry rigged the shift linkage. i think on my motor home all it needs is a little fluid and a neutral safety switch. should i use type f fluid? i think i have a quart or two around somewhere.

If it's never been rebuilt, yes, use type F

Fluid type depends on what year it is, and the dipstick is probably marked showing the correct fluid type.

No 390's installed in cars after 1971, so the C6 uses TYPE F ATF

Beginning in 1977, C4 & C6 began using Mercon aka Dexron II
