I will make sure to check if there is one to the frame this weekend. The other issue we were having was the key cylinder was worn out and got stuck today so we replaced it and really haven't had an issue now. The old one was getting stuck and had to be turned really hard to start it which I didn't notice until today.

Curiouser and curiouser. All seems good now? Gave myself a second bald spot, scratching my head thinking how this was tied to the movement of the gas pedal. I got nothing...
I think part of it was the column is a tilt and the insides were pretty stiff. I opened it up and cleaned out the spring loaded piece and regressed it and with that and the new key cylinder things are working way better now. The other part was the grounds definitely needed to be cleaned up.

Also a big part I did not consider was I think as I pushed down on the gas pedal harder, I would turn the key farther without thinking about it. So it may have had nothing to do with the gas pedal, but more me turning the key harder and farther then I thought I was. I only noticed this after replacing the ignition lock cylinder and then no longer had to turn it so hard.
