On my quest to eliminate some font end clunking, I noticed that the shock absorber bushings are completely perished...
Does anyone happen to know if there is a PN for it? Or know the dimensions of the bushings?
Replacing the shocks is not an option at the moment, plus they are still fine, apart from the bushes.
Many thanks
I'd like to find a set too. 20k miles on my Bilsteins and both the bushings and the boots are all jacked up. They have a lifetime warranty on everything except those two parts...
I should have gone this route lol. I ended buying all new shocks. Had the exact problem as you too. Bushing was shot on the front driver. Only had 100k miles on the truck when I replaced them.
Ok! Got my new shock bushing from RockAuto yesterday...
And got the shocks off today... but... won't bother putting new bushes in... perhaps I need new shocks? lol
Zero pressure on all of them.. they stay in any position you like: fully extended, fully close, half extended... you choose. lol
My experience is that's how hydraulic shocks work. The key is there needs to be resistance when they move, if they move easily or are leaking they should be replaced.
Nitrogen charged shocks will expand on their own. If that's what you have and they aren't expanding then yes, replace.
My OEM shocks were WAAAAAAY overdue for replacement after 225,000 miles. The Bilstein 4600's I installed made a huge difference in the way the truck rode, handled and towed heavy.

I believe they are hydraulics, as I bought the truck not long ago. There is almost no resistance compressing, but a fair amount of resistance extending. And one of them is leaking.
Will probably look for options now, from Bilstein or FOX IPF.
Bilstein 5100's are what I run all around. Rancho 7000's are a comparable shock. I believe the Bilstein 4600's just don't have the Zinc protective coating the 5100's do.

I also have 5100's. 👍 Nothing but good things to say.
