79 grille shell

Is there a good quality grill shell made for our trucks , mine is a 79 f100 , or should I keep the original and see about polishing it back up as someone is looking to perhaps buy my original one but I am a little torn as some after market items can be to cheap ,,

Shell out some big buck for a Dennis Carpenter OEM match, they have a great rep on here.

FWIW, when I restored my 79 F350 a couple years ago, I bought a new grille shell from DC....It looks great, shiny, no dents or clouding BUT its no where near the quality as my factory OEM unit!! Much thinner material, not bad but still thinner. I did have to tweak a few mounting points of the shell to get to match the bolt holes on the truck but again no big deal. I kept my OEM unit and will get it anodized dipped someday! KEEP your OEM unit!! Thank me later!

If you don't have any big dings, just break out the sand paper and polish it up. I've done two like this, they look fantastic and you will save a lot of money.

D8TZ-8200-A .. Grille Shell / Obsolete/Reproduced

1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco.

1978 Customs have round headlamps, 1978/79 Ranger/Ranger XLT & Lariat have rectangular headlamps.

Some 1979 Customs have round headlamps, some have rectangular headlamps.

The headlamp related parts, parking lamps and plastic center grille insert do not come with the grille shell.
