Side walls should never be patched. Anyway, I like Michelin tires. Never had a problem and they last the longest on my CC 4x4 LB F350. Little pricey but I to tow a lot.
What he said. I run Michelin LTX MS2 on all of my trucks. They wear and drive fantastic. Got 80k on my tundra with them. I have about 20 K on my F350 and my Tacoma. Still look new.
Regardless if you think you need it or not get an alignment check when you change tires. I have found that in regular rotation and then either yearly or by yearly alignment check to be critical for good tires regardless if you think you need it or not get an alignment check when you change tires. The Falkens are fabulous. Drove about 200 miles and they feel great, look great and handle wet and dry pavement great. I will be switching out the tie rod ends as the boot looks like it has a hole then an alignment. So new thread to ask for advice on steering parts.
Sidewall wasnt patched, the tread was patched, then it blew out the side on the drive home.
I was looking at the BFGoodrich Commercial T/A, seem to have good reviews, similar pattern to the Michelin Defender LTX. Also looking at the Falken Wildpeak At3W.
No on the Falken...they can feel squirrely I have been told by a friend who had them a few years ago.... did they patch the tire that blew? If so they should have seen the damage that was likely done to the side wall when the tire was run low of air....or did they Plug the tire...?/ and not have a clue of what damage was lurking....anyway...I always love my Michelins....I did purchase a set of 265/75/16 load range E BRIDGESTONE DUELLER....if it isn't Michelin its Bridgestone for truck tires for me....There was a sale on the Bridgestone that save me $70 per tire over what the same size Michelin would have cost me...I havent had a chance to run them yet....The truck these tires and new wheels are going on is a paint job project and hasnt come out of the paint shop yet.... I was promised I would have it by Thanksgiving.... new wheels and tires waiting to be bolted up on my truck still in the paint shop Getting close to being finished...
