I’m not sure if ford put battery isolators on duel battery trucks or if this was added. I’m only running single battery now. Should the other set of cables have power with no battery? It has a parasitic drain on the battery and I didn’t know if this could cause it. I don’t know much about wiring or how to test for it but battery will drain in a few days and at the time it was a new interstate battery. I unhook the stereo and the cd changer in it but it still drains. The trucks a 1977 F250 super cab 460 engine. It has block heater and what I was told a factory winter cover for the grill. Would ford put duel battery in it or was that a camper special option only.
I'm not sure that Ford ever made a battery Isolator....all the motorhomes that I have seen used Aftermarket Isolators... and I wouldn't think Ford would mount one with a Common Head screw ... it's not conducive to production work.
Battery Isolators are used to separate batteries from the system ie one battery for the engine and accessories, the other for House Loads like in a camper..
^ This 'black and white box' with the 3 connected wires is not a FoMoCo related part.
I posted a pic of the factory dual battery schematic, do you see this box there? No you don't and neither does anyone else, because it's not a Ford part.
