Yes. Just hooked mine up last week. Not quite as easy as my old 04. The new trucks need a resistor placed in the circuit to determine the idle speed so it took a bit longer. Here’s a doc that will help you find the right wires and figure out what value of resistor you want.
Yep. My 04 was a 6.0 too. Just had to apply voltage to the circuit via a switch. The addition of the resistor lets you choose what RPM you want to idle at. I’ve also seen some posts where guys are putting in a rheostat so they can adjust the idle speed. I just used a 12k resistor which set me up at about 1200 RPM. Not planning on needing to adjust the idle speed so I didn’t go the rheostat route.
Nice part is, the connector with all the wire stubs unplugs from the truck and you can solder the resistor in on the bench. Not sure I would have messed with it if I’d had to contort myself to get in there and do it under the dash. My body doesn’t fold like that anymore!
EDIT - I just saw you’ve I’ve got a 7.3 on order. I suppose Ford will release a new schematic in the event the wires are different. I’ll be interested to hear your impressions of that motor after you drive it a while!
