96 Explorer no heat
I have a 96 Explorer XLT 4.0 OHV with no heat. When I adjust the temperature adjustment **** I get no change in the heat. The A/C works but I only get fully cold. When on A/C and I turn the temperature adjustment **** the temperature doesn't change, it stays cold. It seems to me that the Blend Door is not opening. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the blend door actuator and the temperature control ****? How do I test both with a meter for this model?

Before screwing with anything in or under the dash, get under the hood and check the temperature of the inlet and outlet lines at the heater core. If hot coolant is not circulating though the core, then you'll NEVER have heat, no matter what.

Problem solved. The Blend Door Actuator was bad. I got a new one and plugged it in without installing it. I then moved the temperature adjustment **** and the shaft on the new Actuator moved so my confidence was high that this was the problem. Removing the old one was a major pain. Getting to the one rear screw was difficult but I finally got it and now I have heat. $18 fix.
