Options?

The back of my cab (49f1) below the window is in porous shape. I have a donor truck but the sheet metal is not much better. I have been scouring the internet but have found no patch panels. Is there a source? I have been toying with getting a bead roll and teaching myself how to make a panel. I'm no stranger to fab work, just haven't done this type. If I did get proficient with the bead roll I could even make some patches for my running boards. If nothing is available I guess I will forced into buying a new tool.

Not sure any parts suppliers have rear cab panels for the F1. Can you post a photo?

Thanks for the interest moejr. Back of the cab is noticeably weaker than surrounding sheet metal. I would assume that condensation from the gas tank on the inside and shade from the front of the box on the outside created an atmosphere conducive to rot. I just didn't think I was the only one that experienced this since I've got 2 cabs in basically the same shape. I was hoping for some advise from the very knowledgeable folks on the forum. Maybe it's me or maybe-------it's a secret

Hi bob, i've never seen anything other than lower rear cab corners offered in the aftermarket for the rear of the cab. I think you've nailed down your choices. New cab; new donor cab; or buy that tool. Good luck with your project. Larry

No secret sometimes it takes a little time.
I also had 2 cabs an f1 and a f4 I ended up using the f4 cab as my truck cab and the f1 became the parts cab I lost a lot of pictures from my build (won’t say anything about how)but there was a hole in the back of the cab made by a ax right at the body line I cut the patch out of the old cab same goes for the patch at the fuel filler. Some trucks must die so others can live
