Thirty years ago, before I went back to college, and gifted my roommate all my inexpensive tools, I had a set of plugs and caps for vacuum hoses, which were white, and had numbers on them. You kept the plug and cap together that had the same numbers, and when you needed to remove and replace vacuum lines you could put the cap on the nipple, and the plug in the hose as you pulled things apart.
This allowed you to go cut new hoses to match the length of your old ones, and get things back where they came from, without trying to decipher the vacuum diagram.
They used to sell them with the HELP stuff at the parts houses. But no longer. Does anyone know where I could get a new set?
My local ACE doesn’t have anything like it. The nearest O’Reilly’s is 130-miles away. Might look at O’Reilly’s online and see.
I’m working on my tiny truck,
It has 7-vacuum connections on the carb, and a whole host of other hoses running all over. It’s 25-years old, and they aren’t staying on well, and that can cause all sorts of issues. So, I’m just going to buy a roll of vacuum line and dive in. But it will be lots
If you've got enough slack you could try just cutting off 1/4" or so of each tube and plug it back right on.
