Complete rear end, Used

I joined a long time ago & come back occasionally. I have a 1985 F-150 Explorer F150 1/2 ton PU & the rear end is slowly going out. The rear end is a code 19 Ford 8.8 3800 3.55 1983-1986 Explorer
My question is will a code18 Ford 8.8 3800 3.08 1983-1986 work without any hook up problems? I am giong for used as I only drive 200 miles a year.

Thanks in advance, if any extra info is needed, just ask me

Thank

The only difference is the gear ratios; one is 3.55 and the other is 3.08. If 4x4, get whatever matches the front.

3.08 is better for gas mileage, 3.55 is the middle, 4.11 is good for acceleration and moving heavy loads.

Mine is a RWD, so good, I should be able to find one close. I think that would be cheaper & easier.

Thanks
