Identify my steering column
I’ve just purchased my 56 f100 that had a makeover in the states in 2001 before being shipped over here. My problem is the steering isn’t 56 f100 possibly 80s econoline. Anyway the column change has broken off an is being done by a pair of vice grips the tilt tilts but doesn’t lock and is all just a bit hairy. Any help identifying or even finding a replacement will put you at the top of my Christmas card list. Fingers crossed

Identifying it is the last thing you need to do, yank it out and throw it in the dumpster and order an IDIDIT column.

eBay item 312560563245 is like the one in my truck check bottom bracket bolt pattern. I need to know which one is on mine (splines length equipment)before I order an aftermarket one to make sure it’s going to fit. I’m in the UK so can’t just nip back for a peplacement,couplings,brackets etc.

1980 was the first year that F100/350, Bronco and Econoline had the ignition cylinder on the column.
But cars had it before, so there's no way to identify it unless you find a ID paper tag looped over the wires of the T/S switch.
Tilt wheel parts (operated by pressing the T/S handle forward) are mostly the same: 1978/91 F100/350, Bronco & Econoline, 1980 Granada/Monarch/Versailles, Misc 1970/79 FoMoCo Passenger Cars.
