Inline Tube Brake Lines: Complete Garbage

After seeing a few positive reviews, including one for a first gen Expedition, I thought I'd give Inline Tube a try. Found a good deal on # (S)FRB9703 for 97-01 Expedition/Navigator 4x4s through their Ebay Store and got it via FedEx a few days later...

This is the same kit described in this thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ake-lines.html

The first thing I noticed was that one of the MC to ABS lines had one bend going the wrong way. Instead of facing forward to meet the ABS Control Unit, it was facing the driver's front tire! Red Flag #1.

Contacted the seller/manufacturer, included pictures detailing the correct orientation with the one halfway-correct MC to ABS line, as well as a picture of HOW they should fit on the truck, including photos of the original Ford Motorcraft parts for comparison. They wanted to argue with me about it by saying they it looks different because there's no flex section and "offered" a refund for this one line...
By then, my gut feeling said that the rest of the kit was unusable. So I made it clear to them that their proposal was unacceptable in the following quote:

"For a vehicle as common as the SUV version of the most popular generation of the most popular truck ever in North America, and considering the consistently positive reviews from the Ford-Trucks forum, to which I am the Chief Technical Editor of, I would like to believe this was a one-in-a-million issue and that, as a company, Inline Tube would not attempt to conceal defects with with an insignificant partial refund. If this product were fitted on the assembly line, the entire Michigan Assembly Plant and its 3000 employees would be halted, dealership orders would be unilaterally stopped and every single Expedition and Navigator would be removed from showroom floors nationwide.

Unless it is made correctly, this product is worthless garbage and that is what I received. An appropriate solution would be to replace the unusable line(s) with correct ones."

To be clear, what I wanted was a part that works, not a refund. It wouldn't have cost them a dime to open up another kit and take some pictures so there would be no more misunderstanding. Against my wishes, they refunded the initial amount and left me hanging with an unusable truck after two weeks of excuses.

After all of that BS, I went out today to see if there was anything remotely salvageable from the kit. Picked up the front passenger line and it was backwards, some bends were going the wrong direction and the damn thing was about 12" too short! If I didn't know better, I'd bet they sent me a Chevy S10 kit and were completely unwilling to admit they could have messed up. Just another day in Detroit, I guess...

Your time is valuable, you deserve parts that work as advertised. Like the old proverb says, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Stay away from Inline Tube.

I bought some of their OE steel 5/16 coiled tubing to use to bend a custom fuel line from my fuel pump to aftermarket carb. Stuff is stiff like OE stuff is and I am dreading when it comes time to bend it as I don't believe the hand held tubing benders could ever bend this stiff tubing.
