Really did little prep on it. The instructions on the can are wash with soap and water. Dry. Taped the area off with blue painters tape and put a handful of coats on it. So far it’s still looking good.

Mine started doing that before I sold it. It wasn’t bad. The handle was the bad part. My son ordered some peel and stick carbon fiber look sticker sheet to cover the wood grain in his Mercedes. We took a scrap piece and covered the release handle. It held up well. But Munising x say in the garage so not sure on how long it would last outside. If I kept the X I was going to order more and wrap the entire black piece.
