Hard start when cold

My truck has a hard start when cold. Will fire once then dies then cranks for awhile then starts. Smokes when first starting. Runs rough until warms up. Oil pressure drops the gauge at idle comes back when you press the throttle. Ipr was just replaced. Just out stage one turbo in. Full egr delete all the blue springs have been done 6.4 banjo bolts. Hpop is healthy 647lbs at idle about 900's when on throttle. Ficm reads 52 what could cause my issues.

What are you reading codes and Data with?
My first thought is to scan for faults and look for glow plug codes. Sounds like you have glow plug issues.

Take a picture of the top of your engine and post it.

An aftermarket oil filter cap can cause issues w/ the oil pressure.

Well the oil pressure dropping is something I would be concerned about by itself. Post some readings and me or someone else on this site will have a better idea what's up.

Everything read fine only thing I couldn't check was the fuel pressure or check the injectors themselves

Couple things. One is you need to get the wire harness off the turbo. That turbo gets smoking hot and will melt that harness. You will have all kind of electrical issues if that happens. Pin it up with zip ties if need be.
2 your ipr reading is high if that's at idle. You should be in the 24 to 25 range at idle. That means your system is working hard to keep up pressure. 900 psi is not good eather when your on a hard excel.should be way higher.
Bismic will have some more info on this. The oil cap is one witch is good.

It was 900's not on a hard Excell it was idling in the shop and just pushing the pedal got it to there not sure what it's at when a hard excel wiring was dropped today needs reziptied so. Question could a plugged oil cooler from sluggy oil cause all this truck sat for 2 years. And could my ipr be bad again. Started really well had little problems when I first put ipr in then went bad and right back to where we are when I started this

High idle (1200 rpm) and your ICP should be 1400 psig +.

You could have an IPR issue. Might be worth pulling it to see if the screen is damaged or if there are contaminants in it,

I would also pull and inspect the low pressure oil regulator.

Lastly, pull the oil filter and examine the standpipe. Make sure that the entire oil filter is covered w/ oil (run it for a bit before you pull it).

Where did you buy your IPR?

How does a Ficm read 52 volts? I thought 48 was the norm.
