Damm that does look good. I didn't know if the automotive urethane would be to hard and crack. What is the wood, tiger wood? My truck will get a little use, I will use it to pickup lumber but not to just throw thing in the bed like my other truck.
Thanks I always like pictures

I was painting a truck for a friend awhile back and when it was nearing completion he asked me to finish the oak bed wood kit that he bought from Mar-K. I told him that I was not a fan of urethaned oak that showed all the open grain so if he wanted me to do the finish work he would have to let me do it my way. He was good with that and after he saw the wood he was glad he did. This is a photo of some of the boards after the final coats of House of Kolor USC01 show clear. I read the reports that Mar-K published on various finishes and how well they held up over a multi-year trial. Based on their reports I chose to use RAKA epoxy as a base...this epoxy soaked into the bare wood and filled all the open grain. It was very durable but, as with all epoxies, did not have a good UV resistance. After about six coats of the RAKA I block sanded the surface of the boards to make sure that the surface was level and free of low areas. Next came two applications of the automotive clear...three coats at a time. Between application 1 and 2 I blocked out the surface with 320 and 600 and then applied the final three coats. The USC01 flows out like glass, it is the same clear that I used on the rest of his truck.
