I just bought a 73 F100 XLT Ranger, and when the engine is started the brake pedal is pulled to the floor by the booster, which I think is contributing to the brakes sticking. is my booster a goner or is there anything I can do to save it?
Does the peddle come back up after a while or do you have to pull it up?
Its most likely the booster (or the internal booster spring) but could be your master cylinder.
might want to try it all with the vacuum line to the booster plugged off/disconnected
Thanks for the reply! everything works fine with the engine off, so I assume disconnecting the vacuum source would produce the same results. Is the spring prone to rusting and falling apart? Guess I'm going to be looking for a new booster. i see 2 different styles in the catalogs
