I have a 96 F150, with the front code for the springs is "K", which on the label says 2950lbs for the front capacity. Can anyone tell me what the codes would be for heavier front coils? I am looking to get around 3500lbs for the front. Also maybe these newer stiffers springs will stop the front end from sagging so much.
Thanks to the group

When I lifted my 90 F-150, they asked if I had a regular cab or an extended cab. The difference being that the coils for the x-cab have a higher weight capacity then the regulars. Hope this helps.
Snag the front springs from a light duty F-250 regular cab, I think those are the step up from yours (I've been looking at doing it too, but I'm scared of shearing my arm out of its socket when the spring releases tension...ouch)
I haven't had a problem with the coils releasing tension. Make sure you support the frame, have the side hanging (not supporting any weight) then jack it up about 1/2". Once you get the top j-clip off, lower the jack. There should be no tension.
I didn't even think about the 2wd F-250 coil springs. I'd assume the 2wd F-250 Extended cab coil springs would have an even higher weight rating.
What about the quad suspension models? Don't the quad models have heavier front springs? I know my quad 88 has some pretty hefty ones and the front doesn't sag at all.
What engine you have will also make a difference. I had a six ni my truck and when I switched it out for the v8 it made the front end sag. I put in the springs for a 91 with a V8 and it brought the fornt end up higher than it was before, and now I have to do something about the sagging back of the truck. I have solution for that! 1982 F-150 Ext. cab 4X4 springs! I can get an entire rear end assembly from a friend of mine, and maybe at the same time change the gears out too! Hmmm, 3.08's to 3.55's (much better)

I have actually thought about doing this same thing on my 93 F150. Would this still require new shocks and an alignment like you would need if you installed longer coils. I am assuming that these F250 coils are the same length just with a heavier load rating.
