My truck hit along with a buddies at a local bar and grill. Dropped it off at the body shop last Monday and they are up to almost 12k in damages and about a month to fix they say. I was put in a 19 2500 ram and I’m not a fan but glad to be in a real truck still.
Do they record when shut down and unoccupied? I mean I suppose they do, but I dunno. Good concept.
When parked it goes into "parking mode". It starts recording when it detects motion in either camera or if somebody hits the vehicle (impact/shock sensor).

Hey I know the feeling. I hadn't even had mine 2 weeks when some jack wagon hit and split while I was parked at work. No security cams in the lot. The bill was $3800 of which I was tagged for $500.
It really stinks when you have to pay for someone else's f**k-up because they're pieces of excrement in addition to being lousy drivers.
Following - I'm looking for a decent 2 channel dashcam setup as well.
I can tell you which one not to buy. I have the Vantrue T2. The camera itself is fine, but it will just randomly quit recording. Has a few other quirks as well.
I was looking at the blackvue, but it got wrecked pretty good on reviews.
I feel sorry for ANYONE that runs into my truck now that I have 400# of Ranch Hand Bumper (front and rear). That's in addition to the OEM 3" hitch on the back and the curb weight of the truck. Every now and then when I'm driving and there's a lot of traffic or some bad driving, I envision hitting something or being rear ended. Then I get out of the truck, wipe the bumper off with a rag, ask if the other guy needs me to call them a tow truck and drive home like nothing ever happened.

A hit and run happened to my 2019 f-450 DRW.
they missed the bumper , road one of my tires up the rear fender . Fender and tire had to be replaced.
All the parts that shattered from the other vehicle could fill a shopping carriage.
someone had a video and even with that which had 5 or 6 plate numbers, no justice.
