The Engine temperature light comes on occasionally especially when the water temperature is Not yet warm. I understand that this is likely due to the water temperature sensor that is to the left of the water pump. I was able to get a part that I thought it was the right one, however after pulling out the old sensor I discovered it was the wrong part. Now searching for the right part I am unable to know exactly which part is correct. Another words there are lots of water temperature sensors available on the market but the typical auto parts stores don’t clearly distinguish which one is for the water Temperature sensor that controls the light.
Would anybody happen to know the correct part number for that sensor. The brand is not as important to me is just been able to find the right part.
Thank you. I have found the sensor and remove it. Once I removed it, I found that the part given to me by a local parts store was incorrect. It would not physically. fit.
I'm looking to see if anyone can point me to a reliable part number. If all else fails, I'll try a Ford dealer. But there is always a premium going that route.
The good news is that I am confident it is a bad sensor or wiring. The truck is not over heating.
