Where is the maf on a 1996 f250 7.5l big block. All the pics show it on top of the air filter, but I have 2 tubes going to the intake and no maf anywhere on the air intake tubes. Please help.

 

A MAF 7.5 is a rare bird, the vast majority retained the OBD1 SD system until the end of production in '97.

 

Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t sure if it had a MAF. All the parts houses sell one but that doesn’t mean that they all are equipped. If a MAF isn't used, what tells the computer when the engine is under load. Mine is stalling out when it comes under load like from a stop. I can keep it going if I feather the throttle. I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, Sea foamed the throttle plate, checked for vacuum leaks, checked each cylinder for spark, plug firing, injector output, but no luck. Any luck yet? Bad tps maybe? If you have two tubes at the air box, then it is speed density, not maf.

 

What codes is it generating? You need to know if the computer sees any problems or not to narrow down the cause of this problem.
