upgrading F100 suspension

Hello,
I have a 76 F100 with a manual transmission and (what I think is) factory rear leaf springs. I just had the engine rebuilt, its now a 390 with a Holly 600 carb and manaflow exhaust. I also recently had the transmission rebuilt and a new clutch. I want to be able to tow and haul more with it, and was thinking I need to upgrade the rear suspension. What are the differences between the F100s/F150s/F250s as far the suspension and how much they can carry? What are my options for upgrades? if this has been covered in another thread, i apologize, I searched the treads but didn't really see anything.

I would like to be able to pull an 8000 lb travel trailer, is that asking too much with my setup (assuming I upgrade the suspension)? What have other people comfortably towed with their trucks? I don't want to hurt my baby!

Love the forum! it has been such a huge help! thanks for any advice or insights. attached is a photo of what I am working with.

Are you looking for a mild lift? I assume this is 4x2?

I'd look at Wild Horses which will keep about the stock height in rear (made for broncos but will fit, they will also sag a bit because F100's are heavier)
Pick the 2.5" version which accounts for sag to bring to F100 'stock' height in rear: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...o_Leaf_Springs
Add these: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...o_Leaf_Springs
Those: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...o_Leaf_Springs
Thems: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...o_Leaf_Springs

You get this, but not as high.

I think pulling 8,000 lbs is asking a lot out of your F100. I believe the F250 was rated at 7,200 lbs. Suspension alone in not going to cut it. Rear axle, transmission, front & rear suspension, brakes all play a factor when it comes to towing. If you don't want to hurts your truck, yourself, or anybody else on the road, purchase a truck made to tow that much weight.

I don't believe you can get there from here. There is some increase to be had (depending on axle rating) with upgraded leafs and helper springs, and better wheels and tires. Also keep in mind though, the brakes are larger on the heavier trucks.
