upgrading F100 suspension
I have a 76 F100 with a manual transmission and (what I think is) factory rear leaf springs. I just had the engine rebuilt, its now a 390 with a Holly 600 carb and manaflow exhaust. I also recently had the transmission rebuilt and a new clutch. I want to be able to tow and haul more with it, and was thinking I need to upgrade the rear suspension. What are the differences between the F100s/F150s/F250s as far the suspension and how much they can carry? What are my options for upgrades? if this has been covered in another thread, i apologize, I searched the treads but didn't really see anything.
I would like to be able to pull an 8000 lb travel trailer, is that asking too much with my setup (assuming I upgrade the suspension)? What have other people comfortably towed with their trucks? I don't want to hurt my baby!
Love the forum! it has been such a huge help! thanks for any advice or insights. attached is a photo of what I am working with.
I'd look at Wild Horses which will keep about the stock height in rear (made for broncos but will fit, they will also sag a bit because F100's are heavier)
Pick the 2.5" version which accounts for sag to bring to F100 'stock' height in rear: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...o_Leaf_Springs
Add these: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...o_Leaf_Springs

You get this, but not as high.
