I have a 1995 Ford F150 Eddie Bauer siteries with a 5.0 engine. My automatic transmission has failed and I can't figure out what one is in this truck. I bought it used and it was supposed to be a rebuilt transmission which I have used for 6 years before failure. It has the OD button and it started flashing but everything seemed normal. Started it a week later only had 1st and 2nd just acted like neutral when in drive. Any way the tag on the transmission says What ford transmission is this? Out of 1995 4x4 eddie baurer eddition with 5.0
It has a u code on door panel. But like I said it could have been changed overhauled. It has 14 bolt oil pan with the hump in the middle with metric stamped in it.
I also just noticed the 14 bolt pan gasket can only be put on one way and won't line bolt holes if wrong. So I'm thinking it's a aide or 4R70W . Thanks you all for your help
Trans Code U and the 14 bolt pan indicate you have a 4R70W. Now you need to pull the codes to see why the O/D light is flashing. The computer has something to tell you...
Is there a difference in solenoids as they appear to be the same in the AODE and the 4R70W. I see them on eBay for 96 and up but mine is a 95 so it says there not the right ones.
The EPC solenoid and shift solenoid pack is the same for 92-97 for the AODE/4R70W, although I don’t think they typically go bad. Should be replaced when doing a rebuild however.
