I have a 1991 F250 7.3l idi n/a with the E40d. For 2 months it’s sat being moved only every week or so while being painted and a few days ago i went to start it and the battery had died. So when i recharged and and started it i put it and drive and it would only go into 4th(or 2nd if i manually selected it). The tach has previously worked irraticly but now doesn’t work at all and the od light glows continuously. The trans was rebuilt just under a year ago. After lots of trouble shooting i know the eec relay works, but i think the pcm might be bad? Or there’s no power to the trans. I’m stuck in a hole as I’m not sure how to troubleshoot further so please help!!!
Update -kind of found the issue. I was fiddling around with connectors coming to and from the pcm, something worked and all functions returned to normal. However when i go over bumps it will disconnect again and go back and forth in and out of limp mode. Just have to find the loose connection now. Any common ones?
