Hey now that i think about it doesn't circiut city sell mtx?.....lol
My brother in law put an mtx 2020? The one right before it changed to the 202, to two 12" kenwood subs and the little sucker was pushing them. The amp ran real hot bridged so we left it stereo untill I talked him into the JBL600.1
hmm...back to original question at hand here...i like the US Acoustic USX-4058/4085 amps mainly for the rock solid rep, cheap but affordable power and 3 year warrenty and i have see good reviews for them. another consideration is Cadence line of amp, particularly the H4. or like PR said the Avionxxx (sp?).
IMO alpine amps are over priced for the power out put and features. RF has declinded somewhat on the enrty level stuff but the quality is still there. i would but RF over MTX anyday and who cares what they sell at CC? if i was to get another RF amp it would definatly be a power, i just thing the punch series is...blah. no seriously it seems its more marketed toward the newbies...but whatever floats ur boat...i run a power 450S (2002 model) and i love it. it doesnt get that hot and hanst given me any trouble in the 1 1/2 yrs i have it.
walmarts 4ga kit is awsome for $25.
I just installed one in my brother in laws truck and for the money i am impressed. It even came with two rca cables.
the wal-mart wiring kit that i got had 4G wire, dist block, 8G wire from there and 8G ground wire. it also came with remote turn on, 2 sets of RCAs and a bunch of zipties, a fuse holder and some loom. excellent deal for the $20 something it cost. its made by scoshe and is a good deal.
what u would do is run the 4G power wire from the battery (with inline fuse holder) into the dist block then it'll have to outputs.
The 8ga wire is fine for the 4ch amp but for a sub amp anything over 600wrms i would go with 4ga power and groung. You can upgrade the dist block so a 4ga will fit. I drilled my old monster cable dist block to accept a 4ga out put and it's fine. It was 14ga in and 4 8ga out. Now it's 1 4gain and 3 8ga + 1 4ga out.
