If anybody can help me with this I will be forever grateful.ok here's the deal I swapped a zf5 2 wheel dr. Into a zf5 4wheel Dr .case. I did a complete switch. Took everything off of main shaft and swapped it over , no problem , but when I went to put the hell housing side on it was short about a mm and a half from joining up. If I try and bolt it up it will not turn. Could it be I need to remove some of the shims underneath the bearing race? I'm at a loss

You will need to install the front main and counter shaft bearing cups without any shim, then measure endplay on both main shaft and counter shaft with the transmission shafts positioned vertically. Take those two numbers and add 0.004" to each to get the required shim stack height for the main shaft and counter shaft.
