hello all. i need some help on the np435 transmission. i have on the output shaft some(i say alot) of play in a 360 degree motion plus some in and out. my trans has the long tailshaft housing mounted on the back of the transmission. is there a bearing in the housing or just in the main body and just a seal in the housing??? i think thats the problem but thought i would check with you guys first. thanks for your replies....
G'day 74 Highboy.
You're right. No bearing in the extension housing, just a seal. Main Output shaft bearing is in the gearbox case. Because of the length of the output shaft in the long extension housing NP435's you will get a small amount of 360 degree "deflection" movement. The in and out movement is the concern though. Might indicate internal spacer or bearing wear.
Cheers.....Barry.
