Hello again everyone! Just replaced a bad booster, had a rust hole in it, with one out of a 90 f250, mines an 88. Now this new one I unfortunately think is junk too. I checked my vacuum and I'm getting good suction, and I swear I hear an air leak in what I assume is the seal in the booster. I'm not talking about the whoosh noise they make when you depress the pedal fast, but almost like a leaky air compressor fitting. Just a constant pshhhhhh. Also having typical brake booster failure symptoms, brakes aren't at 100% and the pedal doesn't return without my foot manually returning it. Just to make sure I'm not crazy before I got out and buy another damn booster can yall take a look at this video and tell me what you think?
some times a used booster will be a bit sticky if it hasn't been used in a long tome... make sure your pedal is good and Free it rides on bushings
in the past I've had em sticky and sprayed a bit of silicone down along the rod and solved the issue... YMMV
Note how the inlet Valving works... there is no Vacuum on on the right hand side unless the Diaphragm is leaking.
BTW my hearing is shot from working on HH-3E choppers, so I can't tell much from your video Sorry
may as well post the at Rest position of the booster too so that folks can see that side and then you understand the 2 valves in it and how they can leak
