Is that nasty cover for the truck? If so, get the OEM aluminum unit. That's almost as bad as
@Tugly old steering wheel.

Yup. That's what came off the truck. New aluminum cover is on its way.

Speaking of steering wheels, I got a squeak when I turn mine. Mostly hear when slowly turning. Any buddy know what that could be? WD don't help.

@Tugly, lol at "like a hot girl with bad teeth". I'll have to remember that one. I decided to go with the factory aluminum cover.

@Bonanza35, boy that squeak could be anything. All I can say is start tearing into that steering column and grease everything that moves.

I was trying not to have to tear it apart, at least taking the wheel off. But I guess that is exactly what I'll have to do. Need to get some tools. At least a puller. Probably have everything else.

Figured out a way to use my transmission jack to lift the differential into the pumpkin.

I'm not sure what you mean Dan. Aren't shims the only thing one can use in a Sterling to adjust stuff?

Those carrier bearings are on right? Is the Sterling shimmed on the outside of the bearing? Or on the inside like a D60?

Due in no small part to your loan of the clamshell puller Dan. It took me three iterations before the tooth contact pattern and backlash came out right.
