Unhappy ford studders

I have a 2001 supercrew that studders from 1500 rpm to about 2500 rpm. I have change fuel filter and air filter. When the service engine light comes on it does not studder as bad until it goes off againg. Thank for the help.

Mack,

Have you gotten your Engine Service Code yet? If you haven't I would suggest you getting that done. Auto Zone and Jiffy Lube will do the diagnostics for free. It sounds like your system is running lean which means you are getting too much air or too little gas. You did the fuel filter so its possible that you need the PCV valve assy. Its about 26 bucks after tax at the Ford dealershiop. Also, it could be a dirty MAF sensor or you may want to clean out your Throttle Body with some T/B cleaner. It could be some other things.. but those are the most common and cheap. Let me know how it goes.
