Driver door double pull

I have a ‘13 F150 Ecoboost. Several years ago it developed a problem that when I unlock the doors, the first pull on the handle the door is still locked. The second pull it opens.

This started while it was still in warranty and the dealer said he could fix it, but before the next time I was there it went back to operating correctly. Fast forward a couple of years, the warranty ran out and it came back.

Any ideas?

It might be a case of the unlock actuator not pulling quite far enough. Have you tried lubricating the latch mechanism?

I`ll try that , didn`t think it was any of the control modules because its only the drivers door.

I have a 2011 F-150 Lariat, my Passenger Door is doing the same thing. Some times it works fine the most of the time it does not. Wife says I am doing it so she has to get wet in the rain.

Double Pull

I tried lubricating the actuator ; made no difference. I `m taking the truck to the dealer for some work , so i`ll ask them about the problem.

Actually I just ask them to let me know what they thought is the problem is didn`t tell them to fix it. I`ve use this particular dealer because in the past they have done minor repairs without charging me.

Update

Dealer tells me door handle needs replaced , didn`t quote me a price. I`m not sure that it`s that big of an issue for me.
