Hello all and welcome to back to school month. Well, for some kids, other kids have been at at school two weeks already. And don't forget, right around the corner is every kid's favorite holiday, especially one of my grand daughter's as it is also her birthday, Christmas! Don't wait until the last minute get your Christmas shopping done. I expect all the decorations to be available in stores any minute now.
I did it again , labored myself a pulled muscle in my back, lifted heavy all week , went to get in my truck and ( BAM) wthhhhhl, That didn’t feel right,so now I sit , got a ibrophen 600 , and some horse gel on , will see what tomorrow brings , suppose to start a new project in the morning, I might end up on my Chiropractor Table instead,Happy Labor Day and September y’all
You do know that Labor Day is a day for the labor force to kick back and relax right? You are not supposed to over labor on Labor Day.

I know that , you know that , now we need to convince my wife to Unstand That, lol, went to see my chiropractor , we’re both in agreence that the 1943 Massey Ferguson Tractor was at fault, I cut the tall grass Sunday’s for the livestock to chew on when it dries out , they won’t even look at it when green , they mow around it , I looked out there this morning and they were test taisting, won’t be long before it’s all gone, that’s when it’s time to butcher , other than that playing back Dr Today , Ibp 800 today with a topping of Ice & heat , have a better day than I Gents .
Grand kids were taken by CPS last Thursday, trying to get them back, so my weekend sucked big time. Their mother missed the predetermination meeting this morning, telling me it was either 8am or 9am, so I get there at 8:15am, and she came out at 8:45am, we get there at 9am only to find out the meeting started at 8am and is over. They did stay and let her speak, but it looks like the kids will be in foster families for awhile. There is a court date tomorrow at 9am, and I am going to do my best to get her there in plenty of time. However, I think the damage is done.
Thanks all. Went to the Court hearing yesterday, and if she takes the anger management classes, and parenting classes, and the visitations go well, then she can get them back as early as October 23rd.
I bought a little bag of red beans from the grocery store. That little small bag turned into a huge pot after cooking. I did not know that would happen. I'll be on a red beans & rice / pork & beans diet for the next 10 days. Yes. First time cooking beans. I've eaten beans. I've ordered them in restaurants. I've eaten beans cooked by other people. But it's the first time, in my whole life, ever cooking them myself. Maybe it's cultural. I did not grow up with beans as a part of my diet. I can honestly say that the only time we ever had beans at our house growing up, was if we got Mexican food take-out, or as a side order from Popeye's chicken. My dad never cooked beans, and so I never knew that the smallest bag in the store is a week and a half supply.
I live in The City. Tonight's red beans and rice was served in a sourdough bread bowl. Talk about bloated. I had 2 days worth of carbohydrates in 1 meal.
Beans are an excellent source of protein (besides carbs).
Growing up in the midwest, there were three kinds of beans; baked, green, and lima. I could not stand lima beans, so to me there were only two kinds.
When I had a business trip to Florida some time ago, a local introduced me to a Cuban bean dish. It was rice topped with red beans and onions (lots of onions), and some spice that I do not know.
Onions, garlic, bell pepper, celery, carrots. Layers of flavor. Bacon bits, roast beef trimming, sausage....meat leftovers really add another dimension. A lot of fresh herbs also enhances.
Just a plain pot of boiled beans has no appeal to me. I guess that is why I never buy cans of beans either.
I got the red beans. Although I imagine that they could all be good if you add a bunch of stuff.
I hear that with modern media driving lifestyle trends, The Midwest is a developing culinary scene. They're beyond canned veggies and casserole. I would like to taste what they are doing there. I once dated a girl from Iowa whose idea of dinner was canned chicken, canned green beans, and a can of cream of mushroom soup - all in a baking dish.
